The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) continues to implement decisive organisational interventions to reinforce, consolidate, and sharpen leadership capacity across its Provincial Command Teams. These changes are made in strict accordance with Section 14 of the EFF Constitution and are a direct outcome of the resolutions taken at the 2nd Central Command Team (CCT) Meeting of the 3rd National People’s Assembly (NPA), held in Bela Bela from the 2nd to the 4th of May 2025.
This moment marks a continued commitment by the EFF to ensure that every province is equipped with a revolutionary, disciplined, and ideologically coherent leadership collective capable of advancing the historic mission of economic emancipation and deepening grassroots organisational presence.
In the Western Cape, the CCT and Officials have resolved to appoint Commissar Thozama Lithakong as the new Provincial Secretary. Commissar Lithakong was the Western Cape Deputy Provincial Secretary and replaces Fighter Mbulelo Magwala. As a result of the vacancy in the position of the Deputy Secretary created by the appointment of Commissar Lithakong as the Provincial Secretary, Fighter Ntsikelelo Tyandela has been appointed as the Provincial Deputy Secretary. These appointments signal a renewed commitment to building strong organisational discipline and growing our revolutionary movement in a province where the EFF continues to make steady and principled inroads.
In the Northern Cape, the CCT and Officials have resolved to appoint Fighter Francis
Thulo as the Provincial Deputy Secretary replacing Fighter Mervin Willemse, and Fighter Goitseone Sekgopi as the Provincial Treasurer replacing Fighter Kerileng Botman. This strategic reinforcement is part of ensuring that the EFF’s machinery in the Northern Cape is well-coordinated, administratively sound, and financially efficient, to meet the political demands of a mineral rich and working-class province that is ready for radical change.
In KwaZulu-Natal, the CCT and Officials resolved on the appointment of Commissar Vukani Ndlovu as the Provincial Secretary replacing Fighter Nkululeko Ngubane, and on the appointment of Fighter Ncedo Njenga as the Provincial Treasurer replacing Fighter Chuma Wakeni. This reflects a deliberate effort to improve administrative capacity in one of the most politically complex provinces in the country. These changes are aimed at strengthening the revolutionary engine of the organisation in KwaZuluNatal and laying a firm foundation for the battles ahead.
In Limpopo, the EFF confirms the appointment of Commissar Anthony Matumba as the Provincial Deputy Chairperson replacing Fighter Rassy Maepa. This key deployment is a consolidation of the gains made by the organisation in Limpopo, ensuring that the leadership collective is equal to the task of preparing for intensified electoral engagement and organisational growth in the province. Matumba brings experience, discipline, and clarity to this important role.
All of these appointments are not merely symbolic, they are tactical moves in a broader programme to refine the EFF’s leadership machinery, deepen accountability, and build a movement that is responsive to the material conditions and aspirations of the oppressed and exploited.
The EFF remains steady in its revolutionary mission: to build a mass-based, militant, and disciplined organisation that is firmly rooted in the struggles of the working class and the poor, and that will deliver true economic freedom in our lifetime.
