The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is pleased to announce the swearing-in of Fighter Samuel Lehlohonolo Legodi as a councillor in the City of Tshwane. Affectionately known by the people of Mamelodi as “Bra Biza”, Fighter Legodi has a proven track record of dedicated service and commitment to the EFF since its inception in 2013. He has served the EFF and the people selflessly, expecting nothing in return.

Fighter Legodi’s swearing in into the City of Tshwane’s Municipal Council, represents the strengthening of our caucus of Councillors, enhancing it to mirror grassroots activism. As a councillor, he brings to the role a unique blend of artistic insight, educational expertise, and political consciousness that positions him as a transformative force in Mamelodi. His background, therefore, provides him with a nuanced understanding of the complex challenges faced by our people.

The swearing-in of Fighter Legodi is a direct challenge to the existing political establishment that has historically marginalised black communities and the arts in general. His appointment represents more than individual achievement: it is a strategic intervention in the political landscape of Tshwane. Through his work in the Black Education Upgrading Arts Academy and his extensive career in entertainment and community development, Fighter Legodi has consistently demonstrated a commitment to creating platforms of empowerment, education, and radical imagination.

We deploy Fighter Legodi with a clear mandate: to be the voice of the economically oppressed, to challenge systemic inequalities, and to implement practical solutions that address the material conditions of our people in the City of Tshwane. Furthermore, he will be at the centre of reviving the role of recreational activity in order to rescue the youth from criminality, and alcohol and substance abuse. Accordingly, the EFF is proud to have him amongst its ranks and will utilise his expertise fully to change the lives of ordinary people through legislative interventions.

The EFF wishes Councillor Legodi well in his new responsibilities. We are confident that his deployment signifies an inclusion of the arts in the picket lines, and a sign of faith in all of the people of Mamelodi who moulded him and hold him close to their hearts.
